I moved SmarterStats 7.1 from an IIS 6 box to an IIS 7 box following the article in the knowledge base. I'm using the default webserver that comes with it. The sites copied across for the most part, but needed some tweaking. When I save a site after making the changes, I get the following warning:

Site settings have been saved, but could not be communicated to service because there is not a secure link to the SmarterTools Service.

I'm not sure if this is to the SS service running on this box or to Smartertools, or ? If it is to the service on this box, what type of secure link is it complaining about?

Ben, did you ever resolve this issue? I just moved our smarterstats install from Windows 2003 32 bit to Windows 2012 64 bit; I can't seem to get it going after following the instructions in the SmarterTools knowledgebase.
