Hi all. Can anyone assist troule shooting exception from SSSvc.log.

    <edit> SmarterStat vers 6 (6.5.4310)

I have a remote server set up with 2 sites on it, neither site is processing logs and this is the only thing I can see which seems to be a problem. This extract is from the smarter stats server.

System.ServiceModel.EndpointNotFoundException: There was no endpoint listening at http://a34.smartertools.com/SmarterStats.asmx that could accept the message. This is often caused by an incorrect address or SOAP action. See InnerException, if present, for more details. ---> System.Net.WebException: Unable to connect to the remote server ---> System.Net.Sockets.SocketException: A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond 69.71.61.102:80

at System.Net.ServicePoint.ConnectSocketInternal(Boolean connectFailure, Socket s4, Socket s6, Socket& socket, IPAddress& address, ConnectSocketState state, IAsyncResult asyncResult, Int32 timeout, Exception& exception)

Well, turns out these errors had nothing to do with my problem ! What I did have to do was manually create a smarterlogs folder on my remote server. Not sure if this should have been done as part of the install, but I'm up and running now and looking good.

For those finding this thread, the reference to a##.smartertools.com/SmarterStats.asmx is to get updated versions of the search engine and user agent definitions files. If that fails, it won't break anything, you're just not getting updates automatically.
