Bug/Issue Could not connect to requested resource. Error with GAL additions

    Hello,

    Upon upgrading from SM8 to SM9, I found the following error when attempting to add a new account to the GAL: "Could not connect to requested resource".

    Attached is the Application Event error:

    Any assistance with this would be greatly appreciated.

    Did you setup a seperate application pool, per the installation instructions, when you initially installed or upgraded to SmarterMail 8?

    Thanks for the response.

    Yes, the site is setup on a dedicated / seperate application pool.

    SmarterMail 9 was also reinstalled with no change :(.

    That is strange. You might want to open a ticket so we can diagnose. Maybe a permissions issue but may a bug. If is a bug, we refund the ticket.

    Curious if you found a solution to this.

    I have SM9 Enterprise and have the same problem. I have SM running on its own server and on IIS - both have this issue.

    @tbayit

    I opened up a support ticket and SmarterTools found this to be a bug. More specifically, the bug is that "New" should not be listed within the GAL.

    However, it looks as though this was not addressed in the latest release.
